Paratext, a Bible translation software, was originally created as an exogenous tool for the translator and missionary, Reinier de Blois in 1994. The software has since grown from a resource tool to the premiere Bible translation tool to reach the nations. What started as a way for de Blois to leave heavy books and resources behind when he traveled has gone through many renditions. Throughout the 9 editions, Paratext has been used to translate the Bible in over 3,500 languages.

The newest edition in development is Paratext 10 Studio, a collaborative scripture editor capable of bringing a project from start to completion. Paratext 10 Studio works in partnership with our brother software, Platform.Bible, an open-source project where developers are invited to create extensions for Paratext 10 Studio. A marketplace will be available for you to pick and choose from the offered extensions that fit your needs.
